Job Summary
Proactively search for story opportunities and industry trends, then place stories in media while conducting outreach to higher-value targets. Write press releases, blog posts, media queries, and social content that aligns with strategic messaging and meets compliance requirements. Brief clients on interview topics, draft approved talking points, and support the VP in onboarding new clients by defining scope and campaign goals. Actively engage with clients via email, phone, and video to address concerns and lead briefings, providing strategic analysis and status updates. Stay current on industry issues by reading relevant media and blogs to master sophisticated client-specific topics.
Required Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, or a similar major
- Four to seven years PR experience
- Candidates must be in commuting distance to our Boston or NYC office
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and operational and productivity tools
Desired Qualifications
- Interest and/or experience in the financial services industry is a plus
- Passion for media relations
- Understanding of AI and how it can support work
- Team first attitude, ability to work with junior and senior team members
- Client service oriented
- Adaptable to changing work demands and priorities; detail oriented
