Job Summary
Senior Account Director, Business Development within the Real World Evidence/Data (RWE/D) group at Thermo Fisher/PPD. Lead consultative sales of clinical research, laboratory services, and RWE solutions to pharmaceutical/biotech decision-makers. Elicit and shape client requirements, orchestrate RFPs and client proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage the end-to-end sales lifecycle from initial contact through implementation. Build and sustain executive-level relationships, coordinate with Operations, Finance, and Marketing, and drive revenue growth through strategic account management of existing and new sponsors. Strong emphasis on technically articulating RWE/NIS offerings, pricing structures, and delivering compelling proposals, client presentations, and negotiated agreements to enable delivery of life-changing therapies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in scientific sales, business development, or related roles
- Scientific, sales and/or marketing background with concentration in pharmaceutical/biotech area
- Proven track record of developing mid and high level business contacts
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams and complex negotiations
- Experience in identifying and developing sales leads, prospecting, and closing contracts
- Understanding of clinical research services, RWE/NIS, and data solutions; familiarity with pricing and proposals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales automation systems
- Clinical selling/RWE experience - desirable but not essential
