Job Summary
Conduct 1-on-1 and small group advising sessions to support student academic success, including curriculum planning, concentration selection, and career exploration. Manage student cases, respond to the MackForce Student Central support desk, and assist with operational processes like course registration and major changes. Collaborate with faculty and campus centers to plan experiential learning initiatives, make professional referrals, and represent the Lucey Center at Admission and Student Life events. Prepare communications and reports for admissions and student achievement tracking. This 12-month in-person role involves occasional weekend and evening responsibilities, with a criminal background check required. Candidates must align with the college's Catholic Augustinian mission.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Three or more years of academic advising experience, preferably with undergraduate students
- Knowledge of degree programs and corresponding career options
- Understanding of educational requirements and advising processes
- Excellent problem solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and develop as an advising professional
- Ability to relate well to students, faculty, staff, and parents/family members
- This is a 12 month, in-person position with occasional weekend and evening responsibilities
- This is an on-campus position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community
- This position is subject to the successful completion of a criminal background check
