Job Summary
Manage high-value, complex customer accounts by ensuring accurate invoicing, collections, and payment application while resolving billing discrepancies and disputes. Monitor accounts receivable aging, Days Sales Outstanding, and collection status to prioritize efforts and recommend strategies for improving performance. Perform complex account reconciliations, process payments and adjustments, and support month-end close activities including revenue recognition and Work-in-Progress billing. Serve as the department's subject matter expert for billing, cash application, and reporting, providing technical guidance and training to staff. Evaluate existing processes to recommend improvements and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to efficiency and internal controls. Partner with Project Managers, Account Managers, and Finance to resolve invoicing delays, participate in ERP implementations, and support internal and external audits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Relevant Experience
- 5 or more years of experience in billing, collections, and accounting within a corporate environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, subledger to ledger relationships, and GAAP
- Serves as a subject matter expert for billing, cash application, reconciliations, and A/R reporting
- Exceptional computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to multi-task, learn quickly, and cross-train on various accounting tasks
- Strong data entry skills with the ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy
- Requires the ability to lift and/or carry 15 pounds
