Job Summary

Review and evaluate daily maintenance or inspection requirements to maintain airworthiness of helicopters assigned to the field base. Investigate and repair air frame and powerplant issues, ensuring all work meets FAA, manufacturer, and PHI Health standards. Notify the Lead Mechanic of unusual situations requiring schedule changes, extra manpower, or technical assistance. Maintain parts inventory, requisition spares, and personally certify aircraft logs and inspection forms. Comply with entries in RAMCO for work packages and status sheets while maintaining company tools and calibration schedules. Prepare reports, inventories, and ensure timely job completion through close communication with the Lead Mechanic and AMBS.

Required Qualifications

  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant
  • At least 2 years of Maintenance experience as a Certified Mechanic
  • High School diploma
  • Basic skills in communications
  • Computer skills
  • Must be able to pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift up to 100 pounds)
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and background screen
  • Sheet metal repair and/or Avionics troubleshooting/repair skills
  • Must be able to travel frequently, sometimes with short notice during regularly scheduled hitch
  • Must be able to work night shifts where maintenance events dictate
  • Must live within a one-hour drive or sixty (60) miles from the base (whichever is greater) of the candidate's residence
  • Travel between bases is required
