Job Summary
Senior backend engineer for 3D AutoReview, exponent in AI-enabled design review. Own backend features for 3D model analysis, geometry parsing, and rule-driven review workflows, collaborating with ML teams to bring intelligence to 3D design reviews. Role emphasizes ownership in a fast-scaling AI-enabled CAD/engineering platform, with emphasis on backend systems, data pipelines, and integration with CAD kernels and ML/LLM tooling. Must bring strong backend experience, 3D math proficiency, CAD kernel exposure, experience with multiple data stores, and fluency in ML tooling and cloud deployment. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend development experience
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling or CAD kernels (HOOPS, OpenCascade, Parasolid)
- Strong background in 3D math (linear algebra, vector calculus)
- Experience designing and maintaining robust, scalable backend systems and APIs
- Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases
- Experience with ML/AI/LLM concepts and productionization
- Familiarity with 3D model ML pipelines (feature extraction, embeddings, training, inference)
- Familiarity with agentic workflows (e.g., pydantic-ai)
- Experience integrating/opening LLMs via APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini)
- Knowledge of ML frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face, Scikit-learn)
- Experience deploying ML services in cloud infrastructure (AWS SageMaker, Bedrock)
- Comfortable working with ambiguous/loosely scoped technical challenges
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, OnShape) a plus
- Experience with mechanical engineering concepts a plus
