Job Summary
Support students academically and emotionally within small class groups by building positive relationships and implementing individual learning plans. Assist with behaviour strategies to help young people access education and achieve positive outcomes while working closely with teachers and wider support staff. Manage challenging behaviour using a calm, patient, and adaptable approach tailored to children with Autism, SEMH needs, and attachment difficulties. Candidates must hold an Enhanced DBS, UK right to work, and recent references, with a driving licence desirable. Immediate starts are available alongside September 2026 appointments for this specialist education provider in Hampshire.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, care or youth work backgrounds
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour
- A genuine passion for helping vulnerable young people succeed
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to transfer/register immediately)
- Right to Work in the UK
- Ability to provide references covering the last 2 years
Desired Qualifications
- A Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
