Job Summary
Meet and greet students for transport transitions and attendance tracking, while assisting those with mobility difficulties to access college areas and educational trips. Address personal care needs including hygiene and mobility assistance per multidisciplinary guidance, and supervise learners during breaks to ensure safety. Support students during teaching sessions with educational activities and Individual Learning Plans, participate in planning discussions to adapt strategies, and contribute to enrichment sessions and trips. Provide first aid and maintain a safe, accessible environment. Permanent term-time only role at Thornton College, Liverpool City Region.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ level 2 in Care
- Level 2 Specialist Teaching Worker Award and or Learning Support Certificate
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, sensitivity and ability to develop and sustain rapport with staff and students
- Knowledge and understanding of the challenges and demands of working with people with differing needs/disabilities/learning difficulties – specifically those who have autism
