Job Summary
Coordinate Education, Health and Care needs assessments within the SENAR Service for Birmingham, leading on statutory processes as the named officer for a caseload of children and young people. Produce high-quality EHC Plans reflecting individual needs, ensuring information is clear and accessible to parent carers, children, young people and professionals, to support informed decisions on assessments and plan provision. Maintain compliance with statutory requirements and local procedures within required timescales, using strong communication and person-centred approaches to keep the child at the heart of decisions. The role offers professional development opportunities within SEND and a rewarding career pathway, with emphasis on collaboration across teams and safeguarding responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with SEND and EHC needs assessments
- Ability to interpret professional advice and produce high-quality EHC Plans
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working within statutory processes
- Ability to work to required timescales and maintain compliance with statutory requirements
- Knowledge of local procedures for EHC planning
- Capacity to engage with parent carers, children, young people and professionals
