Semiconductor Sheet Metal Mechanic

Job Summary
Fabricate, install, and maintain sheet metal ductwork, air handling, and cleanroom enclosures for ultra-clean semiconductor environments. Read blueprints and 2D/3D models to fabricate and assemble ductwork, plenums, transitions, and cleanroom enclosures; perform high-precision layout, cutting, bending, forming, and finishing to meet cleanliness, tolerance, and airflow requirements. Ensure installations meet cleanroom classification, conduct inspections and QA checks, perform leak testing and turnover documentation, and follow strict safety and cleanroom protocols. Collaborate with QA/QC, commissioning, and trades to meet project specs, timelines, and quality expectations, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and finish in controlled environments.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyperson Sheet Metal certification (Red Seal or equivalent)
- Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or similar high-purity environments
- Strong ability to read blueprints, isometric/3D models, HVAC/ductwork layouts
- Knowledge of SMACNA, SEMI, NFPA, OSHA safety standards as applicable
- Skilled in welding, metal forming, sheet metal fabrication tools, proper sealing techniques
- Experience with cleanroom protocols (gowning, contamination control) is a strong asset
- Strong communication, ability to work in teams and adapt to evolving project requirements
