Semiconductor Field Service Technician III

Job Summary
Monitor, inspect, calibrate, and maintain advanced semiconductor process equipment, including high-vacuum PVD tools and robotics. Troubleshoot and repair vacuum systems while performing software installs, logging revision history, and analyzing performance data. Accurately document all maintenance activities, participate in equipment installations, and communicate with U.S. and Japan-based engineering teams. Maintain inventory levels of spare parts and consumables while supporting customer engineers. This role requires working in cleanroom environments, traveling internationally for an initial 36-month training program in Japan, and working flexible shifts with on-call responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 24 years of relevant experience, preferably in semiconductor or vacuum equipment service
- Experience with vacuum pumps and systems
- Experience with PVD
- Experience with pneumatic and robotic components
- Experience with PLCs
- Experience with electrical/mechanical schematics
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work in physically demanding cleanroom environments
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to travel internationally for training
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- Ability to respond to on-call service needs
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be comfortable working in a cleanroom environment wearing full protective gear
- Must comply with all customer site requirements
- Domestic and international travel required
- Initial 36 months of training in Japan required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with multi-chamber cluster tools
- Robotics servicing and control systems familiarity
- Japanese/English bilingual ability
- Cleanroom or semiconductor fab experience
