Job Summary

Semiconductor Facilities Engineer at Micron, focused on technology transfer and rapid, safe integration of new facilities technology. Responsibilities include developing technology transfer plans, tool-service requirements, and utility matrices for FOAK workstation transfers; conducting UTR analyses and system load/capacity assessments; authoring and validating FRD/TI FRD for FOAK material/workstations; delivering program metrics (FRD/alignment, utility load/capacity, cost of transition, performance to plan); troubleshooting complex technical challenges across cross-functional teams; driving quality improvement to reduce Fab impacts and identify cost savings; evaluating process changes with stakeholders to define future facilities requirements and institutionalize BKMs; ensuring safety and regulatory compliance; supporting Greenfield facility design, commissioning, and integration of new technologies into high-volume production; potential telecommuting part time; educational qualifications accepted include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in data science, engineering, or related field, with experience requirements as stated; emphasis on collaboration with Technology Development Fabs and R&D, and a strong background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, data analysis, and reliability engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field or Master’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of experience (or 1 year with Master’s) in related role
  • Analyzing production tool utility requirements and technology transfer processes
  • Assessing utility consumption patterns and optimization strategies
  • Evaluating materials and processes for facilities systems, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Applying thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, data analysis, materials science, reliability engineering
  • Defining facilities requirements for technology transfers
  • Generating facilities release documents and utility impact analyses
  • Utilizing Lean Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, Change Management and simulation tools
  • Designing and coordinating facilities infrastructure projects; overseeing construction and commissioning
  • Providing startup/commissioning technical support for new technologies
