Job Summary
Pick up and drop off boxes for scrap metal collection at customer sites, load, unload, and transport semi-trailer loads within a 150-mile radius of Eugene. Move semi and lowboy trailer loads, secure freight by tying down loads, and perform complete pre- and post-vehicle inspections to report safety issues. Operate industry-relevant technologies including mobile smartphones and vehicle E-logs while maintaining timely, legible, and accurate paperwork. Cross-train on roll-off box trucks and fill in other areas as needed. This role requires a Class A driver's license, ability to drive a manual truck, and physical capability to climb into trucks, open box doors, and lift 50 pounds. Live within 30 minutes of the Eugene location.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of DOT reports and regulations
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- Ability to drive a manual truck
- Class A driver's license
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be physically able to climb into trucks and onto trailers/containers
- Must be physically able to open and close box doors
- Must be able to pass background check along with drug testing
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Live within 30 minutes of our Eugene location
- Must be willing to fill in in other areas when needed
- Candidate would be cross-trained on roll-off box trucks
