Job Summary
Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to individual needs for vulnerable young people aged 7 to 18 with SEND and SEMH requirements. Provide phonics and literacy intervention, oversee reading strategies, and support pupil development through Individual Learning Plans. Upskill and train staff while contributing to EHCP reviews, PEP meetings, and safeguarding protocols. Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies to foster an inclusive learning environment. Core hours run Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:40pm.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- relevant degree
- A minimum of 2 years post graduation experience
- Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH
- Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking
- Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

- Subject/Department leader experience
