Job Summary
Coordinate infrastructure improvement programs with Engineering, Operations, and local municipalities while preparing work orders and maintaining construction databases. Stake proposed service locations and inspect contractor work to ensure installations meet company standards and safety specifications. Assist with project design activities, feasibility reviews, and obtaining easements, rights-of-way, and permits for construction projects. Serve as a point of contact for customer and contractor inquiries and support Michigan Public Service Commission inspections. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, walking up to 10 miles daily and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Qualified to operate a vehicle under the company's Safe Driving Policy
- Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day in all weather conditions and work in extreme heat and cold
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, walk, climb, push, pull, lift, and carry 20-50 lbs., as well as perform fine finger movements and reach above and below shoulder level
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with potential exposure to stinging insects and insecticides
Desired Qualifications
- Additional college coursework or vocational training in drafting, surveying, electrical systems, circuit wiring, or a related technical field
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles
- Ability to successfully complete Operator Qualification (OQ) training after hire
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Customer service oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management
- Working knowledge of business software applications used by the company and the ability to learn new systems as needed
- Commitment to maintaining a positive work environment, following established safety standards, and promptly reporting potential hazards
- Ability to adhere to company policies, business ethics standards, compliance requirements, and all applicable state and federal laws
