Self-Checkout Attendant

Job Summary
Greet guests at self-checkout registers, provide machine guidance, and assist with scanning, payments, and bagging while maintaining a clean, sanitized workspace. Troubleshoot basic technical issues, report malfunctions, and ensure stations are stocked with necessary supplies. Monitor transactions and guest behaviors to prevent theft, follow loss prevention policies, and collaborate with store associates. Continuously move through the area to address inquiries with urgency and manage traffic flow by encouraging small orders from traditional lanes. Work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced retail environment with two-week advance scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Cashier and Bagger
- Basic technical proficiency and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed
- Ability to process information/merchandise through register system
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple registers at a time
- Ability to read, count, and write accurately
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Standing for long periods (up to 90%) and some lifting may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous customer service or retail experience preferred
