Job Summary
Design meaningful learning experiences for a self-contained classroom of nine elementary students with autism, implementing individualized supports and IEP goals while monitoring progress through ongoing data collection. Maintain accurate educational records and collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and multidisciplinary teams to foster a structured, inclusive environment. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress to support academic, social, and behavioral growth. This full-time maternity leave assignment runs from August 13 through November 9.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Special Education or a related educational setting, preferably working with children in a school-based environment
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement
Desired Qualifications
- A master's degree or additional graduate coursework
