Job Summary
Inpatient Psychiatry physician sought for VA Loma Linda Healthcare System in Southern California. Full-time physician will join inpatient psychiatry services, work with inpatient care teams, perform assessment and treatment of General Psychiatric disorders, participate in teaching of medical students and residents, and engage in academic care, teaching, and research. Responsibilities include conducting treatment planning, consults, ensuring timely follow-ups, safety assessments using validated suicide screening tools, coordinating patient care with Medical/ED staff and Mental Health Services, providing guidance to trainees, and utilizing VA Video Connect and other telehealth modalities as required. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. Location: Fontana, CA within VA Loma Linda Healthcare System with affiliations to Loma Linda University Health Medical School and University of California-Riverside.
Required Qualifications
- residency trained in Psychiatry
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (Board Certification preferred)
- General Psychiatric disorders assessment and treatment
- Consults with clinical staff on patient care issues
- Use of suicide screening tools to assess safety
- coordinate care with Medical/ED staff and Mental Health Services
- Teaching and guidance to General Psychiatry Residents and medical students
- Proficiency with VA Video Connect (VVC) and telehealth modalities
