Job Summary
Experienced tailor/seamstress sought to perform alterations and deliver professionally finished garments for high-end clients in a fast-paced Burlingame, CA office. Responsibilities include adjusting suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers (e.g., shorten/lengthen sleeves, taper sides, adjust waist/seat, ensure proper sizing), pressing, removing threads, and maintaining daily alteration production records. Requires deep knowledge of fabric and tailoring concepts, meticulous workmanship for men’s and women’s garments, and excellent communication to interact professionally with clients. Minimum 5 years tailoring experience in retail or customer-service environments and strong hand-and-machine sewing skills are required. Benefits include PTO and a 401(k); employment contingent on background and credit checks; E-Verify participation. Immediate filling of position; New Providence, NJ location; part-time schedule (~24 hours/week) with hourly compensation of $29.00.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment
- Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-starter
- Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a strong organization of time
