Job Summary
Agricultural Research Seed Production Manager responsible for managing proprietary seed production plots, coordinating contract cooperators, maintaining equipment, collecting and reporting data, and collaborating with multiple research stations to develop and commercialize seed products. Role includes budgeting input, supervising contract labor and employees, field activities (planting, harvesting, pollinating, selfing, rogueing), data reporting, equipment maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance. Travel up to ~25% locally and internationally; require CDL and Pesticide Applicator License. Based at the Ogden, UT research station with focus on end-to-end seed production workflows and coordination across stations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent in agronomy, agriculture, biology or related field, or 4 years related knowledge and extensive experience
- Knowledge and experience with field equipment and farm machinery.
- Demonstrated strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% to local, regional and international locations.
- Ability to work variable hours including occasional weekends as required by the business.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain CDL.
- Must have or be able to obtain Pesticide Applicator License.
