Job Summary
Provide technical design for low-voltage systems including structured cabling, physical access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection. Peer review project work, establish discipline standards, and coordinate with all involved disciplines and outside consultants. Deliver on-the-spot technical advice, cost estimates, and project status updates while adhering to design schedules and budgets. Identify milestone dates and potential additional services to support client desires and project scope. Assist Project Managers by providing design resources and guidance for multidisciplinary projects.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma
- 3+ years of experience in low voltage systems
- Structured cabling, both inside and outside plant
- Electronic Physical Access Control
- Video Surveillance
- Intrusion Detection
- Overhead Paging
- Audio/Visual
- Nurse Call
- Real Time Locating Systems
- Infant (and memory care) Protection
- Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
- Physical Security Professional (PSP)
- Knowledge of the design and construction process
- Experience in the design of low voltage systems
- Understanding of document preparation utilizing a BIM/Revit platform
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Well organized with the ability to take detailed notes
- Strong conceptual understanding of low voltage systems
- General knowledge of system operation
- General knowledge of space requirements
- General knowledge of cost
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be available for weekend shifts
