Security Technician

Install, commission, and service IP-based video surveillance and electronic access control systems across our growing project portfolio. Responsibilities include mounting, configuring, and commissioning IP cameras across enterprise VMS platforms (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, and others); installing and programming access control panels, readers, locks, and door hardware; performing server-side programming and configuration on VMS and access control servers; system commissioning, end-user training, and turnover documentation; service calls and troubleshooting on customer sites; and working from drawings, BOMs, and submittals while flagging issues. Must be able to read construction drawings, assist with security cable installation, and support related tasks. Requires 2+ years of hands-on field experience, knowledge of networks, familiarity with Windows and Sequel Server environments and basic cybersecurity practices, ability to read drawings/submittals, and a valid driver’s license; BICSI INST1/INST2 or ESS credentials are a plus, certifications (Genetec TSE, Milestone MCT, Avigilon, Lenel, etc.) strongly preferred. This is an in-person field role serving Cedar Rapids, IA, with full wage/benefits under an IBEW union.
