Security Technician

Job Summary
Install, test, and commission intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and related low-voltage security systems according to project specifications. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure proper installation and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Troubleshoot installation issues, complete corrective actions, and accurately document work orders and project reports. Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress. Travel to job sites as required to perform physical tasks including lifting 50+ pounds in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if driving role
- Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems
- Ability to work independently and complete standard installation jobs without direct supervision
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with commercial security systems and integrated low-voltage platforms preferred
- Manufacturer certifications in security or access control systems preferred
