Job Summary
Install project-specific devices for fire alarms, CCTV, intrusion, and access systems per building and electrical codes. Program security and nurse call systems using specialized software while analyzing blueprints and running conduit. Mentor entry-level technicians, coach on job sites, and monitor outside contractors to ensure code compliance. Troubleshoot system failures, perform regular inspections, and recommend preventative maintenance. Maintain tools, vehicles, and safety certifications while navigating company software for service tickets. Work off-lifts, travel occasionally, and attend manufacturer training programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 3-5 years of experience as an entry level technician or related industry experience
- OSHA-10 hour certification
- Must be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to navigate company software, enter data, and send communication
- Must possess excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools
- Must be able to unload, carry, and climb ladders
- Must maintain First Aid and CPR Certification
- Must maintain lift, confined space, and other required safety certifications
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, climb ladders both caged and un-caged as well as stairs and other equipment
- Required to stand and walk
- Maximum unassisted lift = 75lbs
- Must be able to safely drive company owned vehicle or personal vehicle for the purpose of IPS business
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record (no DUIs or other serious violations within the past three years)
- Willing to work after normal business hours and weekends
- Periodically travel out of normal service area when necessary
- Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and honesty
- Must have a demeanor to tolerate a variety of customer personalities
- Must demonstrate excellent people skills
- Must demonstrate excellent organizations skills
- Must be able to occasionally travel out of town
- Must maintain necessary licenses and certification
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a plus
- Willing to learn new products and services
- Attend manufacturer and company specified training programs
