Job Summary
Security Technician responsible for installing project-specific devices to standards of fire alarm, building and electrical codes; will mentor, train and coach entry-level technicians on jobsites. Duties include installing Fire, Suppression, CCTV, Intrusion, Access, Nurse Call, and related systems; reading and analyzing blueprints and drawings; wiring and routing cabling (EMT/PVC); using software to program and set up systems; coordinating with project managers and other trades; supervising outside contractors to ensure code-compliant work; troubleshooting system problems; conducting regular inspections and preventative maintenance; traveling as needed and occasional after-hours/weekend work; maintaining tools and vehicles; obtaining and maintaining required licenses and certifications; demonstrating customer service excellence and strong communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 3-5 years of experience as an entry level technician or related industry experience
- OSHA-10 hour certification
- Must maintain First Aid and CPR Certification
- Must maintain lift, confined space, and other required safety certifications
- Must be able to navigate company software, enter data, and send communication. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a plus.
