Job Summary
The Security Technician is responsible for performing skilled technical work involving the installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and testing of access control, closed circuit television (CCTV), and security systems hardware and software. Key responsibilities include inspecting installation sites, drilling holes for wiring, examining systems for issues, maintaining inventory, and completing associated paperwork. The position requires proficiency in using hand and power tools and a basic understanding of networking concepts. Candidates must possess fire alarm and burglar alarm system certifications and demonstrate experience with security systems.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet or smart home systems
- Certification in Fire Alarm Systems Agent (FASA)/Burglar Alarm Systems Agent (BASA)
- 1 year experience in the installation of security systems, camera and low voltage systems
- Proficiency using small hand tools and larger power tools
- Active state issued driver’s license
- Comfortable working on a ladder and at heights
- Ability to work days, weekends, evenings and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Internet Technologies
