Security Systems Lead Technician

Job Summary

Design, configure, and maintain card access, security, and camera systems for clients while conducting site surveys to assess needs and develop customized solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure system requirements are met, perform integrations with other building systems, and troubleshoot technical issues related to access control and surveillance. Provide end-user training, prepare accurate documentation including wiring diagrams, and manage project timelines and budgets. Work inside facilities or in the field under varying environmental conditions, operating company vehicles and adhering to OSHA standards. This role supports MCS's core Security and Life Safety Systems line of business.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • The ability to obtain a JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) badge
  • Minimum of [5] years of experience in designing, installing, and maintaining card access, security, and camera systems
  • Proficiency in industry-leading card access, security, and camera systems, including but not limited to Software House, American Dynamics, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices related to card access, security, and camera systems
  • Experience in conducting site surveys and developing comprehensive security solutions based on client needs
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure and protocols related to card access, security, and camera systems
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines
  • Regular attendance following an established work schedule
  • Ability to work any shift/designated hours required
  • Ability to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work
  • Night and weekend work
  • Travel to areas with varying field conditions
  • Capability to climb ladders, work at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks
  • Capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations
  • Ability to operate in noisy environments with temperatures higher or lower than standard office conditions
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Adherence to traffic laws and company policies governing the use of motor vehicles
  • A current passport
  • US government security clearance
  • Professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation and enhances productivity in the workplace
  • Well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with various external customers including government, military, and contractor personnel at all levels

  • Grooming and dress that does not pose a safety hazard to yourself or employees working in the same general area
