Job Summary
Specialist, Information Security Systems Engineer at L3Harris in Rochester, NY, focusing on Information Assurance architecture, CONOPS development, and RMF/NIAP/NIST/FIPS compliance. Responsibilities include allocating and validating security requirements, preparing NSA-related certification documents (SED, KCMP, SHRS/SHDD, SV, PCA), and ensuring DoD CM processes and ECP handling. Requires DoD IA expertise, experience with cryptographic components in tactical radio platforms, and collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and SW engineers. DoD information assurance certifications, NSA security requirements, and active/ability-to-obtain Secret clearance, plus U.S. citizenship, are required. Salary range in NY: $80,500–$149,500. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with minimum 4 years of related embedded software engineering experience; or Graduate Degree with minimum 2 years related experience; or in lieu of degree, minimum 8 years related experience.
- Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance or ability to obtain one
- US citizenship is required
- Must have experience with security requirements analysis and specification generation
- Experience with security standards and evolution of NSA certification processes
- Experience with certification of secure architectures
- Familiarity with DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (RMF)
- Knowledge of NSA security documentation (SED, KCMP, SHRS/SHDD, SV)
- Experience with DoD Configuration Management (CM) processes and handling Engineering Change Proposals (ECP)
- Ability to interact with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to ensure designs meet security requirements
- Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in engineering and 4+ years of embedded software-based engineering solutions; or 8+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Preferred: strong verbal and written communication; radio communications or networking experience; knowledge of configuration management tools
