Job Summary
Lead daily security operations for the Taft Museum of Art, conducting shift briefings, overseeing opening/closing procedures, and monitoring CCTV and access control systems. Supervise, coach, and mentor Security Associates while managing recruitment, scheduling, and performance reviews. Respond to security, medical, and facility emergencies, coordinate incident investigations, and serve as Manager-on-Duty when assigned. Ensure compliance with museum policies, safety standards, and legal requirements through routine facility inspections and staff training. Collaborate with museum staff, volunteers, and guests to maintain a secure, welcoming environment while promoting service-oriented solutions. Work the 3:00–11:00 pm Wednesday–Sunday shift with a salary of $16.50–$23.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or National Career Readiness Certificate
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum two (2) years of supervisory, leadership, or team lead experience
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to move briskly throughout the building and grounds
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs and operate a lift
- Ability to respond quickly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents requiring security involvement
- Ability to sit, stand, or patrol for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, and work with hands above shoulder level
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a museum, zoo, aquarium, library, or other cultural property security environment
- Experience leading, training, and developing team members
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Willingness to obtain certification
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Experience with CCTV, access control systems, alarm monitoring, and related security technologies
