Security Specialist, COMSEC

The COMSEC Security Specialist role centers on safeguarding communications security materials, equipment, and cryptographic devices across the enterprise. Responsibilities include inventory, inspections, and accountability of COMSEC assets; conducting COMSEC briefings; handling classified material receipts and internal security records; maintaining security databases; and ensuring adherence to security classifications and physical security requirements for secure vaults/rooms. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 2–3 years of COMSEC experience, Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, US citizenship for clearance, ability to obtain necessary access, familiarity with NSA Type-I encryption devices (e.g., KG-175s, KG-185, KIV-7, KG-250s, Omni, DTD, SDS, VIPERs, STE with KSV-21), and completion of the COMSEC Manager course within 6 months. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of COMSEC experience; the role offers a competitive benefits package and relocation assistance.
