Security Solutions Engineer

Job Summary
Deploy, configure, and maintain endpoint detection and response, email security, and network security solutions. Build, tune, and optimize detection rules, alert policies, and automated response playbooks using Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and related security platforms. Monitor security alerts and dashboards, investigate events, and escalate incidents as required. Assist with incident response, containment, and recovery efforts. Administer identity security controls including MFA, Conditional Access, and PAM. Support vulnerability management, compliance initiatives, and audits for ISO 27001 and SOC 2. Maintain security documentation and operational runbooks. Research emerging threats and recommend proactive mitigation strategies. Work remotely 8AM–5PM EST.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in Security Engineering, Security Operations, or IT Security
- Experience with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and EDR/XDR platforms
- Knowledge of vulnerability management tools such as Tenable or Qualys
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid environments
- Understanding of MFA, Conditional Access, and identity security
- Basic PowerShell, KQL, or automation scripting skills
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
- CompTIA Security+ or CySA+
Desired Qualifications
- Microsoft Security certifications (SC-200, SC-300, SC-100)
- Preferably has MSP experience
- Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks
