Job Summary
Direct operations at the scenes of incidents, alert Lieutenants as needed; write investigative, incident, accident, and similar reports; complete daily activity, payroll, and equipment inventory reports; maintain accurate records and documentation of security activities, incidents, and personnel; provide guidance and support to security officers in handling challenging situations; conduct regular patrols and inspections to identify security risks and coordinate with internal departments and external agencies; respond to incidents and alarms; lead, supervise, and mentor a team of security officers to ensure efficient execution of operations; ensure policies and procedures are followed and provide feedback to leadership; train officers and develop continuing education programs; implement goals and objectives; interpret and enforce agency policies; deliver new-hire training and professional development; develop and implement security procedures, protocols, and training to enhance team capabilities; issue and maintain equipment; perform security duties by vehicle, bike, or on foot; coordinate with Dallas Police Department and Crisis Intervention; develop targeted patrols for quality-of-life issues; represent Downtown Dallas Security professionally at events; provide high level customer service and address inquiries; coordinate with city services for quality-of-life enforcement; ensure uniformed appearance; stay informed on security threats and innovations; perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years security experience
- 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Knowledge of security protocols and procedures
- Familiarity with laws and regulations governing security operations
- Knowledge of security technologies and systems
- Ability to write investigative, incident, and other reports
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of security officers
- Experience coordinating with law enforcement and crisis intervention partners
- Ability to conduct patrols and inspections and mitigate risks
- Strong communication and training skills
- Ability to interpret and enforce agency policies and procedures
- Bi-lingual ability desirable
- Understanding of time and attendance, performance management, and injury-on-duty processes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
