Job Summary

Search for, respond to, and handle security issues, emergency situations, and safety violations in accordance with brand policies. Patrol all property areas, including outside parking, on a regular basis. Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, document daily activities, and complete proper reporting forms for property losses or injuries. Escort suspicious persons off the property if necessary and witness cash handling. Maintain knowledge of disaster and emergency policies to respond immediately to alarms or calls for help, notifying authorities when appropriate. Enforce the No Solicitation Policy and keep supervisors informed of all significant problems.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service.
  • Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have good organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to provide professional and courteous guest service.
  • Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have good organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to assist all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must be able to perform job duties and responsibilities in a cost-effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
  • Must be able to patrol all areas of the property including outside parking areas on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to note, search for, handle and report any unusual circumstances, including safety violations, car theft or destruction, and any suspicious or undesirable persons and escort off the property if necessary.
  • Must be able to conduct thorough investigations of all security incidents.
  • Must be able to document security incidents daily.
  • Must be able to complete proper reporting forms as necessary to document losses of property or personal injury to a guest.
  • Must maintain knowledge of all property disaster and emergency policies and procedures and respond immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help.
  • Must be able to determine appropriate course of action and notify authorities if needed.
  • Must be able to enforce the property's 'No Solicitation Policy'.
  • Must be able to escort and witness cash handling as needed.
  • Must acquire working knowledge of the property and all facilities to respond to guest questions effectively.
  • Must understand and apply all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.
  • Must keep supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
  • Must be able to perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on various surfaces (asphalt, cement, carpet, etc.) throughout the entire shift up to ten miles per shift.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, bend and reach throughout entire shift.
  • Must be able to interact with law enforcement.
  • Must be able to work with disgruntled, intoxicated or hostile guests.
  • Must be able to work in variable temperatures and weather elements.

Desired Qualifications

  • CPR certification preferred but not required.
