Security & Safety Specialist- Night Shift

Job Summary

Conduct scheduled patrols of orchards, ranches, equipment yards, warehouses, shops, and company facilities to prevent intrusion, detect theft, vandalism, and trespassing. Monitor security camera notifications, alarms, and reported activity while responding to emergencies including accidents, injuries, fires, and security concerns. Assist with investigations involving property loss, equipment damage, and safety incidents, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency responders when needed. Evaluate theft incidents, maintain the theft database, and recommend preventative controls. Observe work activities, report safety gaps, and coach employees on OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements. Write detailed reports documenting patrols, observations, and corrective actions. Maintain confidentiality while demonstrating professionalism in all interactions. This overnight role may include weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid California driver license
  • Satisfactory driving record
  • California BSIS Guard Card

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Occupational Health, Business Administration, Human Resources, Criminal Justice, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in safety, security, law enforcement, military, loss prevention, agriculture, or related field
  • Experience working in agricultural, field, warehouse, shop, or rural property environments
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain
  • Strong skills developing relationships across all levels and functions
  • Knowledgeable in the application of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Experience administering personnel policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing; strong oral comprehension and oral expression skills
  • Strong problem sensitivity: able to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong and escalate appropriately
  • Excellent observation, report-writing, investigation, and documentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well in a team setting and collaborate with Operations, HR, Safety, law enforcement, and emergency responders
  • Proficiency in computer usage, email, and MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
