Job Summary
Protect the organization's physical assets by maintaining and safeguarding the facility perimeters via foot, vehicle, or bike patrol. Monitor personnel flow, audit visitor authorizations, and inspect commercial deliveries to prevent unauthorized access. Inspect common areas for hazards, escort guests and personnel, and oversee emergency situations including employee injuries. Respond to incidents by investigating, interviewing, and gathering information to complete incident reports. Assist in developing security programs and educating colleagues on security issues. Maintain knowledge of all security orders and navigate security software systems. Work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
- one to two years progressive experience with law enforcement, public or private security organization
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to navigate windows based security software, such as CCTV, access control, visitor management log in/out and fire/life safety systems
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
- Driver's License
- CPR/FA, AED training
- Available to work a flexible schedule and to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
