Job Summary
Install, program, test, repair, and service non-routine security, fire alarm, and building automation systems. Commission new systems, analyze performance, write custom programs, and conduct customer training while interpreting blueprints and schematics. Troubleshoot malfunctions using standard test instruments, consult engineering personnel for complex issues, and manage project risks to control costs and deadlines. Mentor less experienced staff and coordinate project execution with minimal supervision. Requires 3-5 years of experience, valid driver's license, and ability to travel locally.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Exceptional customer focus
- Ability to work under pressure
- Solid technical skills and experience with fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems
- Solid programming skills
- Proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
- Self-starter
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Solid math skills
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Advanced computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Proficiency in other relevant applications
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis
