Job Summary
Conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols of hospital grounds, documenting unusual conditions and observing departing personnel to prevent theft. Control access and egress, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, and warn violators of rule infractions. Assist hospital staff with de-escalation, restrain combative individuals as necessary, and transport patients to the morgue or emergency room. Sound alarms or call police/fire for emergencies and investigate incidents to prepare detailed reports. Perform these duties on a Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule in Houma, LA, with a weekly pay rate of $15.91. Submit to drug screening and complete required TB tests and vaccinations.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- At least 1-2 years of security experience
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in the elements (as needed)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle
- Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable employment history relating customer service or the protective service industry
- Must be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state
- Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Active listening skills
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Attention to detail
- Qualified candidates must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law
- A tuberculosis (TB) test and certain vaccinations may be required
