Job Summary
Conduct facility security patrols on foot or in a vehicle while monitoring closed circuit television systems and alarms. Enforce site regulations and directives for personnel, visitors, and premises by acting as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions. Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances verbally and in writing, maintaining proficiency with assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons. Answer phones, greet guests and employees professionally, and assist with inquiries to build effective relationships with client staff. Maintain awareness of site-specific operations performance manuals and post orders while ensuring compliance with state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Armed Security Officers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid Guard License as required in the state for which you are applying
- Current active status of all required License at all times
- Ability to carry the License at all times while on duty
- Successful completion of a background investigation
- Successful completion of a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test
- Ability to pass a Driver's Record check
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments
- Ability to effectively manage deadlines
- Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site

- One or more of the following: 3 years civilian law enforcement experience, 3 years private or corporate security experience, 3 years military experience with a positive discharge, Criminal Justice Degree or law enforcement related degree (Associates or higher), or Graduate of a law enforcement training academy
- Ability to use both hands
- Ability to stand, sit, stoop, talk and hear
- Ability to communicate verbally in person and via regular telephone equipment
- Ability to read computer screens, correspondence and reports in English
- Ability to constantly walk, stand, reach with both hands and arms
