Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicles while monitoring entrances and exits to permit authorized access. Watch for irregular conditions, warn violators of rule infractions, and sound alarms or notify police/fire for unauthorized persons or emergencies. Investigate accidents and suspicious activities, prepare reports, and maintain required logs. Aid customers and employees in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Work evenings and overnight shifts Monday through Sunday with flexible scheduling, including irregular shifts with little to no advance notice. Valid driver's license required; background investigation and drug screen are conditions of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Background investigation
- Drug screen
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
