Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle, monitoring entrances and exits while observing departing personnel to prevent theft. Sound alarms or contact police and fire departments regarding unauthorized persons or fires, and warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering or smoking. Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing written logs as required by post orders. Aid customers and employees in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. This role serves clients across healthcare, education, and finance industries. The position requires an active CA Guard Card, one year of security experience, and Level 1 Power to Arrest certification. Pay is $24.30 per hour for a designated flex shift with weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- Active CA Guard Card
- Security experience of 1 or more years
- Intermediate to advanced technology skills
- Level 1 Certificate (Power to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force Certificate)
- Use of personal electronic devices while on duty is prohibited
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- No prior experience required
- Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
