Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watch for irregular conditions, and sound alarms for unauthorized persons or fires. Warn violators of rule infractions, permit authorized entry, and monitor entrances and exits to protect against theft. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, maintain written logs, and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner while operating radio or telephone equipment. This role involves irregular shifts with little to no advance notice, requiring travel between Bridgewater and Carteret, NJ. Candidates must have two years of security experience, an open schedule for morning, evening, and overnight shifts, and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- 2 + years security experience
- Open availability able to cover morning, evening, and overnight shifts
- Ability to travel and work both Bridgewater and Carteret locations
- High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Subject to a background investigation
- Subject to a drug screen
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
