Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle while monitoring entrances, exits, and departing personnel to prevent theft. Watch for irregular conditions, warn violators of rule infractions, and permit authorized access. Sound alarms or notify police and fire departments regarding unauthorized persons or fires, and investigate accidents or suspicious activities to prepare required incident reports. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice, requiring flexibility and the ability to adapt to different post assignments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
