Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watching for irregular conditions that create safety hazards. Sound alarms or contact police/fire for unauthorized persons, warn violators of rule infractions like loitering, and permit authorized entry while monitoring exits. Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and investigate accidents or suspicious activities, preparing required reports and logs. Aid customers and employees courteously, make emergency notifications per site orders, and operate radio or telephone equipment. Work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice at $24.00 per hour. Valid driver's license required; background investigation and drug screen are conditions of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license
- Subject to a background investigation
- Subject to a drug screen
- At least 18 years of age
- 21 years of age if armed
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
