Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicles while monitoring entrances, exits, and departing personnel to prevent theft. Watch for irregular conditions, warn violators of rule infractions, and sound alarms or notify police/fire for unauthorized persons or emergencies. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, maintain logs, and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Aid customers and visitors courteously and mediate conflicts with tact. Work swing shifts Monday through Friday from 15:00 to 19:00 at the Newark Campus for $27/hour. Operate radio or telephone equipment and console monitors as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Background investigation
- Drug screen
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
- Monday-Friday Swing Shift 1500-1900
- Irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
