Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watch for irregular conditions, and sound alarms or call police/fire for emergencies. Warn violators of rule infractions, permit authorized entry, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft. Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities while maintaining required logs. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications as necessary. Swing shift 1500-1900 Monday-Friday (20 hours/week) at $27.00. Must possess a valid California Driver's License, be at least 21 years of age, and speak, read, and write English.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Must possess or be able to obtain all required security licenses and certifications
- Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable using a computer on a daily basis
- Must be able to navigate computer systems, send and receive emails, enter information, complete electronic reports, and use security-related software and applications
- Ability to learn and use site-specific computer systems, access-control systems, cameras, and other security technology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during stressful situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be dependable and maintain consistent attendance
- Must be able to pass all required background and employment screening
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately

Desired Qualifications
- Previous security, military, law enforcement, customer service, or related experience preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
