Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watching for irregular conditions that may create safety hazards. Sound alarms or contact police and fire departments regarding unauthorized persons or fires. Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering or carrying forbidden articles, while permitting authorized entry and monitoring exits. Observe departing personnel to protect against theft and ensure property removal meets client requirements. Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing reports and maintaining written logs. Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner and make emergency notifications as necessary. Work irregular shifts with little to no advance notice across healthcare, education, finance, and other industries.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and current CA. Guard Card & training certificates
- High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
