Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle, watching for irregular conditions that may create safety hazards. Sound alarms or call police/fire department for unauthorized persons or fires, warn violators of rule infractions, and permit authorized entry while monitoring exits. Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and investigate accidents or suspicious activities, preparing required incident reports and maintaining logs. Aid customers and employees courteously, make emergency notifications per site orders, and operate radio or telephone equipment. Work evening and overnight shifts with little to no advance notice, including weekends and holidays, available Monday through Sunday.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and current CA. Guard Card & training certificates
- High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- Background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
- Availability for short notice / weekends / holidays
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday availability
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
