Job Summary
Conduct security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle, monitoring entrances and exits while watching for irregular conditions or safety hazards. Sound alarms or contact police and fire departments for unauthorized persons or fires, warn violators of rule infractions, and permit authorized access. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, maintain logs, and make emergency notifications per site Post Orders. Aid customers, employees, and visitors courteously while observing departing personnel to prevent theft. Work flexible weekday and weekend shifts with irregular hours, requiring reliability and adaptability to different post assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 6 months of security experience
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen
- Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Active listening and problem-solving skills
- Assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Teamwork
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice
- Flexible position weekdays and weekends with all shifts
