Job Summary
Enforce federal, state, and local law while conducting mobile patrols, traffic enforcement, inspections, and searches. Provide armed protective services for NASA-owned property, control access to installations, and escort public and government personnel. Execute access control, traffic control, walking, and motorized security functions while following standard operating procedures for weapons, buildings, and equipment. Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, and facility checks alongside package and parcel inspections. Communicate via radio, telephone, and orally per orders. Must work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Complete the NASA Federal Arrest Authority Basic Course within 90 days and obtain a SECRET security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Current Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or greater certification through the State of Ohio
- U.S. citizen
- At least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
- Ability to complete the NASA Federal Arrest Authority Basic Course (academy) within first 90 days of employment
- BLS/CPR certified
- Honorably discharged (If applicable)
- Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain a SECRET government security clearance
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year military or law enforcement experience
- Possession of a diploma or certificate as a graduate of a Federal, State, or local law enforcement agency; or military services recognized basic law enforcement or physical security training academy
