Job Summary
Conduct first response to emergencies, enforce federal and state law, and perform mobile patrols, inspections, and searches. Provide access control, traffic control, and armed security functions for NASA-owned buildings and equipment. Initiate arrests, transport persons, and escort public and government personnel while maintaining cleanliness of assigned uniforms and weapons. Follow standard operating procedures for personnel, vehicular, and facility checks, including package and parcel inspections. Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, with mandatory availability for hurricane or disaster emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be able to meet drug testing and alcohol – free workforce requirements to include random drug and/or alcohol testing
- Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance, but not required to start
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed
- Will be required to report and remain available for emergency duty in expectation of a hurricane, other disaster, or declared emergency
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred 1 year military or law enforcement experience
- NBTS required prior to standing an armed post
- ICS-100 required prior to appointment
- ICS-200 required prior to appointment
- Honorably discharged (If Applicable)
- Possession of a Diploma or certificate as a graduate of a Federal, State, or local law enforcement agency; or military services recognized basic law enforcement or physical security training academy preferred, but not required
